Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you can opt-in to having your name, email address and website stored in cookies. They are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to see if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set a number of cookies to store your login details and your screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days and screen options cookies last a year. If you choose “Remember me”, your login will take two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on some pages of the website may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly the same as if the visitor had visited another website.

Who we share data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment on an article or review, your text and its metadata will be stored indefinitely. This is so that we can recognize and approve any subsequent comments automatically, instead of placing them for moderation.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal data they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitors’ comments can be checked through an automatic spam detection service.
